Abstract: AMCA has been working with the USFWS on a Monarch Guidance Document that details steps needed to coordinate activities that will lower the risk of pesticide exposure and adverse effects to federally protected species, pollinators and monarchs, and other non-target wildlife while maintaining mosquito management goals. Furthermore, because endangered species mitigations are now on malathion labels, and soon to be on all other mosquito control product labels, a letter of technical assistance from the USFWS may be required for product label adherence. Creating a partnership with your local FWS Office will be instrumental for future mosquito control programs. In this presentation, we will highlight AMCA’s relationship ongoing with USFWS and discuss the methods that local programs can employ to further their own local partnerships.
