Connect and network with fellow AMCA Young Professionals and experts before the official start of the conference at the YPs Pre-Conference Workshop. This year’s workshop, “It Takes a Village: Implementing Community in Mosquito Control,” will focus on the critical role of collaboration and community engagement in effective vector control and public health practice.
Participants will engage with professionals from diverse backgrounds, including mosquito control districts, public health agencies, academia, and industry, to discuss real-world examples of partnerships, lessons learned, and strategies for working across communities and disciplines. The morning session will feature a moderated panel discussion with expert speakers, followed by an interactive Q&A with attendees.
In the afternoon, participants will take part in a hands-on mosquito surveillance session, where common trapping methods and tools will be demonstrated and discussed, with an emphasis on best-use scenarios, deployment considerations, and field implementation tips.
Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. RSVP required; space is limited.
