Carolin Degener studied Biology in Regensburg and obtained her PhD in Parasitology from the University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She had her first contact with Biogents as an undergraduate student working as a volunteer in repellent efficacy studies. She decided to dedicate her research to mosquitoes and investigated yellow fever mosquito mass trapping in her Master’s and PhD theses. After a post-doc at Fiocruz in Rio de Janeiro where Carolin worked in a project that developed a real-time dengue alert system for Brazilian municipalities, she returned to Biogents in 2016. She has been involved in several work areas, including development, marketing, data analysis, and scientific writing. In 2023, Carolin joined Biogents' new product management team as scientific advisor, and to provide technical support for our customers.
