Megan MacNee is a seasoned association executive and strategic facilitator with more than a decade of experience serving nonprofit, government, and association sectors. As a Senior Association Executive and Strategic Facilitation Consultant at Advocacy & Management Group (AMG), Megan provides both full-service leadership and consulting services to associations and nonprofit organizations.
She currently serves as Executive Director of the American Mosquito Control Association and the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California, and will assume the role of Executive Director for the California Society of Anesthesiologists in June 2025, following several years as Deputy Executive Director. Megan leads cross-functional teams ranging from 5 to 10 staff per client, overseeing all aspects of association management including board and committee governance, budgeting and financial oversight, advocacy, membership engagement, grant and program management, education, events, and communications.
In her consulting work, Megan specializes in strategic planning and facilitation, helping organizations move from stagnation to momentum through tailored workshops that emphasize both vision and execution. Her facilitation approach encourages strategic clarity while guiding clients through the tough decisions necessary for long-term success.
Prior to joining AMG, Megan held leadership roles at Donate Life California, the California Building Industry Association, and in the California State Assembly, where she began her career as a Jesse M. Unruh Fellow and Legislative Assistant. Her diverse background includes experience in advocacy, communications, financial management, governance, events, and operations.
Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Redlands and her Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. She earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential in 2022. Megan is also a former travel blogger and the voice behind “Traveling Nine to Fiver.”
