- Head of Biology, College of Science, Jazan University, Saudi Arabia.
- PhD from the University of Manchester in the field of environmental biology, specialising in the
study of insects, with a particular focus on molecular techniques and vector-born disease i.e.,
mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti).
- My MSc (from Texas A&M University) was examining the impact of mycolactone on the life-
history traits of mosquitoes.
- Graduated with a BSc in Biology from the Biology Department, College of Science, Jazan
University in 2012.
- Since 2012, I have taught several courses in entomology, biology, and research tools.
- I have 12 years of research experience, which started when I enjoyed conducting small experiments
during my undergraduate studies using the mosquito vector Culex. This work was then published as
the first scientific publication, and I was the first author.
- Before doing PhD at the University of Manchester, I had a valuable research experience in molecular
biology at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) working on "Molecular analysis of
phenotypes affecting disease transmission in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in Saudi Arabia".
- In March 2023, I was awarded the “Jazan Award for Excellence and Creativity” for the Scientific
Research Branch - 15th (2023).
