Farhan Chowdhury Apon is an emerging entomologist with strong research interests in vector biology, insect physiology, and taxonomy. He completed his master’s degree in Zoology from Jahangirnagar University with a CGPA of 3.65, where his thesis focused on the comparative efficiency and survivability of native and exotic fishes for biological control of mosquito larvae. Farhan has actively participated in several government-funded mosquito surveillance programs and published research on mosquito diversity in urban and peri-urban Dhaka. Alongside his scientific work, he serves as an advisor and Vice President of the Jahangirnagar University Higher Study Club, where he mentors students pursuing research and higher studies.
Furthermore, Farhan is acting as the lead research associate in Insect Rearing and Experimental Station, where he is responsible for the management of the lab. Besides that he plans the research works, hunts grant and is responsible for training the young researcher.
His long-term goal is to become a researcher specializing in insect–microbe interactions and to develop sustainable, ecology-based vector management strategies that promote both public health and environmental balance.
