Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, Yucatan, Mexico
I am a biologist graduated from the Technological Institute of Conkal, Yucatán, and I hold a PhD in Science with a specialization in Medical Entomology from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher and have been a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico (SNI I) since 2022. Additionally, I have been part of the External Advisory Group for the Evaluation of New Technologies in Vector Control in Mexico (Vector-Borne Disease Program) at the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control (CENAPRECE) from 2022 to date.
My current research focuses on mosquito mass-rearing and release-based control strategies, particularly the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) and the Incompatible Insect Technique (IIT), including the use of irradiated and Wolbachia-infected mosquitoes.
I have contributed to human resource development through teaching, continuing education courses, and the training of specialized personnel in vector control. I have also participated in webinars and professional forums related to my research and areas of expertise, as well as broader topics such as nature conservation.
