A Marine Corps veteran and former EMT, Josh graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University. After graduation, he gained experience in field research and ecology, working as a field director for a sea turtle research project on the island of Antigua and as a technician for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Inland Fisheries Division. His interest in Entomology was sparked during his time working as a laboratory contractor at the USDA’s Plum Island Animal Disease Center in New York. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Medical and Veterinary Entomology at Kansas State University to further his understanding of the arthropod species which transmit pathogens that cause disease in both humans and animals.
