Ismaaeel Abdur-Rahmaan is a post-baccalaureate research associate working under Dr. Rebekah Kading. He is currently investigating arboviral ecology in Myanmar through bloodmeal identification and viral screening. His previous research experiences include characterizing the role of the gene sptlc2 in host-pathogen interactions during Mycobacterium tuberculosis pathogenesis and investigating the prevalence of antibiotic resistance in children under five within Uganda. Beyond his interests in translative research and zoonoses, Ismaaeel also enjoys Pottery, snowboarding, and biking whenever he can.
