Jessica C. Coolidge, MSc, BCE, PHE, is a Laboratory Associate at the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District in Corona, California with over eight years of experience in vector control. She earned her Master of Science in Entomology from the University of California, Riverside, where she investigated how larval mosquitoes influence microbial diversity and aquatic ecosystem productivity. Upon graduation she worked for 5.5 years in the Operations Department at the West Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District, advancing from a seasonal position to Technician I and later Technician II. During this time, she gained hands-on experience in source reduction, pesticide application, biological control, and community outreach. In 2022, Jessica earned the Public Health Entomologist Certificate from the Entomological Society of America. In 2023, she moved to the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District to develop skills on the laboratory side of vector control. In her role as Laboratory Associate, Jessica conducts mosquito and vector surveillance, performs RT-qPCR testing for arboviruses, and educates the public about integrated pest management strategies. She continues to develop her skillset to support science-based approaches to vector management and disease prevention. Most recently, in early 2026, Jessica earned the Board Certified Entomologist credential from the Entomological Society of America, specializing in Medical/Veterinary Entomology.
