Dr. Bethany McGregor is a Research Entomologist at the USDA-ARS Arthropod-Borne Animal Diseases Research Unit in Manhattan, KS. Dr. McGregor received a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee in 2012, an M.S. in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2015, and a Ph.D. in Entomology at the University of Florida in 2019. She completed a short postdoctoral appointment at the CDC in Fort Collins, Colorado before beginning her job with the USDA in 2020. Since joining ARS, Dr. McGregor’s research has focused on vector ecology, with a special emphasis on Culicoides biting midges. Her research encompasses many areas of ecology, including larval ecology, spatial ecology, sugar feeding ecology, host associations, and virus-vector interactions.
