Lead Entomologist

Roy Faiman is a medical entomologist with nearly 20 years of experience in mosquito, sandfly, and tick ecology and taxonomy. A former NIH research fellow, he completed postdoctoral training at the NIH and Cornell University. He currently leads data quality and validation at Vectech. Dr. Faiman earned his master’s and PhD in parasitology and medical entomology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where his DoD-funded research focused on Leishmania transmission and sandfly ecology in the Middle East. He has conducted extensive fieldwork across Africa, the Middle East, and the U.S., contributing to vector surveillance and control efforts. His work appears in leading peer-reviewed journals in medical entomology and disease ecology.
