.Carla-Cristina “CC” Edwards is a Ph.D. candidate in Entomology at the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on the metabolic and physiological mechanisms of insecticide resistance in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in California, integrating biochemical, behavioral, and molecular approaches to improve vector control. Beyond her research, she is passionate about science communication and mentorship, serving as Chair of the American Mosquito Control Association Young Professionals Committee. CC is committed to bridging research and public health practice to develop more sustainable mosquito management strategies.
