I am currently Research Director of one of the largest mosquito control agencies in the world, Lee County Mosquito Control District, Florida. I recently held a Senior Service Fellow/Research Entomologist appointment at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Fort Collins, Colorado and currently hold adjunct faculty positions at Old Dominion University, the Uniformed Services University, and the University of Florida where I have conducted entomological research and taught both in person and on-line undergraduate and graduate level courses in vector biology and general/applied entomology. I have been recognized for my work in academia and governmental agencies by being presented institutional and national teaching excellence awards, awards for military service, as well as Excellence in Partnering awards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Georgia for fostering domestic and international research and training collaborations around the world. My background also includes numerous leadership roles, public outreach experience, service to academic/professional community, and research/publications spanning diverse entomological disciplines, to include: arthropod surveillance and control, biology/ecology, taxonomy and systematics, toxicology, and conservation. My scientific background embodies a ‘one health’ approach to research, training, and collaboration in medical entomology and related fields.
