Nexilianne Borrero-Segarra serves as a Project Manager at the Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit (PRVCU), an initiative of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust. She oversees multiple large-scale vector management and research projects across southern Puerto Rico, including Si Screens, CERSE, and Outdoor Residual Spraying (ORS), focused on evaluating innovative mosquito control tools and community-based interventions to reduce Aedes aegypti abundance and dengue transmission risk.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology, a master’s degree in Biotechnology and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. Nexilianne has extensive experience coordinating inter-institutional collaborations. Her work combines scientific, community engagement, and operational leadership to strengthen sustainable approaches to vector control and public health in Puerto Rico.
